COLOUR POP ULTRA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK - REVIEW & SWATCHES

Colour Pop has been the most talked about beauty brand when it comes to their eyeshadows, lippiesticks and especially the ultra matte liquid lipsticks. Living in Dubai, we were so eager to get our hands on some as it is something so unheard of unless ofcourse you are someone that invests time into researching beauty and makeup like I do. I was so excited when it finally arrived, I purchsased the ultra matte liquid lipsticks in the colours Tulle, Viper and Lovebug.
It is about $6 USD for one (excluding shipping) which is AMAZING for the quality and for simply how amazing the product is, it is definitely one among our top 5 fav lip products !

From top to bottom : Tulle, Lovebug, Viper

                                             VIPER

Viper is a warm purple shade with a matte finish, It is absolutely gorgeous and so easy to apply. It can be made darker with the application of more coats which is great if you want to go for a bit of a vampy look. Overall 8/10.

TULLE

Tulle is a gorgeous dusty burgundy mauve shade which again is one that can be made darker with the application of more coats or can be worn as a subtle shade too. It is a super versatile shade and goes with almost any outfit which makes me love it even more. 8.5/10.

LOVEBUG

Lovebug is a warm brown with a slight burnt orange tint, Personally I am so partial to shades with purple or pink tints that this purchase was something brave for me. After wearing it I fell in love with the shade, It looks great especially on a light colored outfit stealing all the attention. You're bound to get a bunch of compliments wearing this. 9/10.

REVIEW

PACKAGING  - The packaging is minimal, a basic plastic tube with a doe applicator brush. 

FORMULA - The formula while application has the consistency of a thick liquid but it dries SUPER fast which is a good thing most of the time but an absolute nightmare if you mess up.

SCENT - It does not have a scent in particular, it does not smell sweet or like chocolate as compared to other liquid lipsticks which do. It smells like a bunch of substances put together, the scent is just indescribable more chemically than natural or fruity.

AFFORDABILITY - Definitely a 10/10 for affordability, for $6 a tube it's definitely a bargain.

LASTING POWER - 9/10. It is super long lasting and hard to budge, after swatching the colors for the pictures it took me a good 10 minutes and a hard scrub to get it off. Eating and drinking might take it off a bit but not too much.

Tarte Cosmetics Launches in Sephora, Dubai Mall

Tarte Cosmetics provides cruelty free products made from naturally derived ingredients, they contain vitamin oils, minerals and Amazonian clay to name a few. Not only are they natural products but they also have a 12 hour lasting power as claimed by Tarte. 

On 26th October 2016, Tarte cosmetics launched  in Dubai at Sephora, Dubai Mall, we were super excited to be a part of the launch. It was indeed a beautiful experience; the launch was hosted by two gorgeous beauty bloggers/sisters Sonia and Fyza Ali. There were adorable cupcakes and lemonades distrubuted to refresh you while you make your decision of what to get..... if not everything !! The staff were super helpful and the crowd was overwhelming but not in a bad way the thrill and the rush of grabbing the products before they sold out was exhilarating.

There was no way I would be leaving the launch without getting my hands on their very famous Tarteist Lip paints. 

Tarte Cosmetics offered such beautiful shades that I had a tough time making my decision. After spending ages swatching colors and making decisions, I decided to pick the shades Crop Top and Hangry. 

Let’s begin with discussing the packaging, these lip paints comes in a simple black top mini bottle which has a transparent body, through which the shades can be seen clearly. The packaging is definitely simple and easy to travel with and it also has a doe applicator that glides on your lips smoothly.

Moving on to the formula, these lip paints are super creamy and has great colour payoff. They do not completely settle on yours lips like any other regular matte liquid lipstick would do, therefore they aren’t transfer-proof and you would definitely require reapplying once you’re done eating or drinking.  When it comes to longevity, these lip paints last for an average time, from personal experience they lasted for about 4-5 hours, but they certainly do leave a stain on your lips.  

Crop Top is a medium brown shade with warm undertones and Hangry is a dark plum shade, both these shades are semi opaque. Hangry would suit all skin tones, while on the other hand Crop Top will preferably suit only light/tanned skin tones. We have swatched the Lip paints for you, just to give you a better picture of how these shades would look in person.

Overall, Tarte Lip Paints are super comfortable to wear, extremely lightweight and highly pigmented. If you’re not looking for something that would dry out your lips completely, then I would highly recommend you all to try out these creamy matte lip paints. Do give these beauties a shot, you’ll definitely love them, just the way I do!

Lush Cosmetics, A Tour of the Largest Lush Store in the UAE

Lush Cosmetics recently opened their largest store in the UAE, Located in City Walk Dubai. the store covers around 128 square meters of pure Lush goodness. The store has taken it's inspiration from the Lush Cosmetics flagship store in Oxford Street, London. 

For those who are new to the concept of Lush, they are the leading international handamde eco-friendly cosmetics retailer. All their products are natural and handmade with scents that can be sniffed from miles away, they have the most unique stores with the most innovative products.

Upon our visit to the store we were welcomed with smiles and greetings from the most amazing and cheerful staff which made our visit to the store even better. The atmosphere was super positive and welcoming, there was fun music playing in the background making everyone want to groove i'm pretty certain that we spent over an hour there if not more. We got to try out fun stuff like the bath bombs, bubble bars, face masks and so much more. 

There are also unique sections in this store that was not a part of lush before which are the Innovation & Hair Lab and Gorilla Gallery. 

Innovation & Hair Lab

Specially trained staff consulted us about our hair type and texture and recommended products like shampoo, conditioner and hair masks that would suit our hair type and improve any bad hair situation that we wanted to resolve. They offered to give us a hair treatment for free which was great. There were not any people queued up for it which is surprising but I guess it depends on the time and day that you visit the store. There is always the option of calling up the store and making an appointment.

Gorilla Gallery 

The Gorilla Gallery is a small section of the store with a wide selection of Lush scents. The Gorilla Gallery is a unique experience of it's own, the set up is intended to make the customer feel comfortable and relaxed while being presented with a range of scents. There are two chairs and a table with relaxing music playing in the background, I had a seat and the wonderful Lush staff lined up a range of scents and we went into analysing them one by one. Each scent has a story and origin of it's own designed to evoke a mixture of feelings and emotions.
